May Optical was first founded in 1919 by Max E. May.  His son, Stuart L. May was brought in to run the company at the end of WWII when called back from active duty as his father was ailing.  

Stuart May built the company into one of the most innovative eyewear design companies in the US.  He is know as the Father of Eyewear Design.

Stuart is happily retired and now lives down south with his wife Audrey.
